Mount Kilimanjaro
The Roof of Africa
Rising proudly above the plains of the northern Tanzania, Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest mountain and one of the world’s most iconic natural wonders. Formed millions of years ago through volcanic activity, Kilimanjaro is made up of three volcanic cones - Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira - with the Uhuru Peak standing at 19,341 feet (5895 meters) above sea level.
For generations, the mountain has held deep cultural significance for the local Chagga people who live along the slopes (the Origin of Godlove Lekule the founder of Lekule Midwest Safaris). Today, Mount Kilimanjaro attracts travelers from around the world seeking adventure, breathtaking scenery and unforgettable experiences of standing on the Roof top of Africa. From lush rainforest and alpine deserts to snow-capped peak, every step of the journey reveals a different side of Tanzania’s natural beaty

What to Expect
Travelers can expect guided trekking days, comfortable mountain camps of huts depending on the route, freshly prepared meals and support from experienced local guided and porters dedicated to your safety and success. The journey is challenging but rewarding. No technical climbing experience is required for most routes.
As you ascend higher, temperatures become colder and the air thinner, making proper pacing and acclimatization very important. Summit night is the most demanding part of the climb, but reaching Uhuru Peak at sunrise is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that makes every step worthwhile.
